INSURANCE COVERAGE

The good news is that lactation care is often covered by insurance, and many families have no out-of-pocket cost or very low out-of-pocket cost for covered, in-network consultations.

I currently work with Medicaid and Colorado Access (CHP+), Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, TRICARE, Meritain Health, Anthem, First Health, First Choice Health, Curative Health, Imagine Health, MultiPlan, PNOA, Sutter Health, and Velocity PPO.

Every insurance plan is a little different. Some plans cover unlimited lactation consultations, while others have a limit on the number of visits. Some cover virtual consultations, while others cover only in-person visits.

I’ll be happy to help you check your benefits before your first appointment, so you can feel comfortable knowing what your plan covers.

What if I don't see my insurance listed?

If you have another insurance plan, such as Blue Cross Blue Shield or Kaiser, you may still have coverage for lactation consultations with an out-of-network provider like me.

I recommend giving your insurance company a quick call before your appointment to ask about your out-of-network lactation benefits. If your plan offers out-of-network coverage, I’ll provide you with a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

I’d love to be able to guarantee that you’ll be reimbursed, but unfortunately, I can’t make that promise. Insurance benefits vary from plan to plan, and the final decision is made by your insurance company. Checking with them beforehand is the best way to know what to expect.

SELF-PAY PRICES

Prenatal class or consultation (1h30): 

• In home or in-office: $150

• Telehealth: $120

Postnatal consultation and assessment (1h30 or 2h). 

Baby is born and you need help with breastfeeding, pumping, combo feeding and everything in between:

• In home or in-office: $200

• Twins or Triplets: $250

• Telehealth: $150 (Note that telehealth wouldn't be the best option if you have major breastfeeding difficulties such as excruciating nipple pain, medically complex situation, severe colics etc…). 

Follow up appointments (1h):

• In home or in-office: $150

• Telehealth: $120

Baby is getting big! 

For consultation on returning to work, pumping, bottle refusal, introducing solids, weaning, sleep challenges etc… Baby is getting bigger, breastfeeding is going well overall and you need help with a new stage of your baby's life (1h30): 

In home or in-office: $150

Telehealth: $120

Mini Consultations

For established families with a quick question or difficulties such as biting, selecting a good pump, night weaning, a refresher class about solids or breastfeeding in general, a short telehealth consultation could be a good option:

• 30 minutes: $50

• 45 minutes: $75

• 1h: $100

Overnight Appointments

For urgent breastfeeding support between 10 PM and 8 AM that cannot wait until morning: 

• In-Home: 1h15 minutes - $300

• In-Home: Each additional 30 minutes - $75

• Telehealth: 1h - $150

• Telehealth: each additional 30 minutes - $50
